Self care is so important.

Pregnancy, motherhood, and the person you are outside of these things are parts of you and times in your life where you may need support from others.

And how better to find out about those things than through recommendations from people you trust.

Here are some people and resources that have helped me prior to pregnancy, throughout pregnancy and beyond...

Sally treated me for six months, and quite simply, fixed me!

From seven months pregnant, to eight months post partum, I suffered with severe Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP). It stopped me from functioning normally on a daily basis, picking up my baby,  sitting down, standing up, laying down, walking short distances, getting up the stairs! You name it, my pelvic bones simply didn't function, and I was in chronic pain.

From the moment we found Sally, and I walked in her treatment room, I knew I was in good hands. She told me exactly what was wrong with me, and after my first session, I felt relief from pain and experienced normal movement for the first time in over six months. Sally treated me for the following six months, and quite simply, she fixed me!

If you are suffering with PGP, I can't reccomend Sally highly enough.

If you need more information on PGP, maybe you don't know what it is, or maybe you think you may have it. This is a resource Sally recommended to me, and it was invaluable.

When I first started with symptoms, and for about 5 months of having them I thought I was just experiencing pregnancy, and had a low pain threshold. Reading this website, I felt emotional and justified in my pain, knowing there was a real issue allowed me to feel better about it, instantly.

This site provides lots of information on what PGP is, how to treat it, and the impact it can have on you. It also provides information for those within your support network, i.e. work.

I didn't have my MummyMOT for 2 years, and it is one of my only regrets.

My chiropractor, Sally, had told me a number of times that she thought I had a tight pelvic floor, which could be one of the reasons I was experiencing such severe, uncomfortable periods. She suggested I get a MummyMOT with Beth at The.MumPhysio. When I eventually booked myself in, I didn't regret it. Within 2 sessions the manipulation and exercises (which I used my hypnobirthing breathing for...) made such a huge difference.

For many reasons, I struggle to relax for any feminine health appointments. But, Beth  puts you at ease within seconds, she is just a wonderful human, and I cannot recommend her enough.
