‘‘Your support has empowered us to approach the twins birth with calm and positivity.’’

Twin mama to be

Hello...

Welcome to Melanie Elizabeth Hypnobirthing and Therapy. It's so lovely to see you.

Here, you can learn how hypnobirthing can help throughout pregnancy and birth, and take the next steps in preparing for a positive and powerful pregnancy and birthing experience.

But first, do you know what Hypnobirthing is? Scroll down to find out a little more...

What is hypnobirthing?

Hypnobirthing is a full birth preparation (antenatal) course that uses logic, science and hypnosis to help you prepare for birth, and relax throughout your pregnancy. The tools and techniques you and your birth partner learn, can help you both release your fears, understand your choices, and support each other throughout pregnancy and birth.

Birth doesn't need to be what you see on TV, it can be a powerful, empowering experience. And whilst nothing is guaranteed, you can stack the odds in your favour. And I would love to help you do just this...

"I attended hypnobirthing sessions with Mel for my second child and found them so helpful during my pregnancy and labour. After a difficult first labour, Mel made me feel comfortable, knowledgeable and empowered. As a result I had a massively improved experience and would recommend to anyone. Thank you Mel ❤️"

Is it just...

... for home and water births?

Nope.

Birth is birth, is birth...

You can practice hypnobirthing wherever, whenever, and however you choose to birth your baby.

Hypnobirthing is hugely beneficial for those who choose to birth by caesarean or to be aided by interventions and inductions.

... for mums?

Nope.

Your birth partner can play a really important role in your pregnancy and the birth of your baby.

The course and the tools it provides you with, are designed for both you and your birth partner. Your birth partner plays a huge role in pregnancy and birth, not only does their active involvement take a load of you, but it gives them a sense of true purpose, can impact their bond with baby, and help you relax knowing they know how to help you when you need it.
.....................................................

... a bunch of hippy-dippy-mumbo-jumbo?

Nope.

It can work, for everyone.

There are lot of myths out there, and whilst a lot of people believe birth will 'be what it will be', there is science support that relaxing throughout child birth can have a hugely positive impact on the productivity of labour, hormone release increasing the bonds between mother and baby and also... the breastfeeding process.

Sally, me and PGP.

Three years ago, I met Sally and she gave me my life back. I suffered with severe PGP in the last trimester of pregnancy, and was only pain free 8 months post partum. Now, I am a volunteer for the Pelvic Partnership, and last November I had the privilege of chatting with her on their behalf.

The knowledge Sally shared so freely with the Pelvic Partnership will hopefully help a great number of women suffering with pregnancy related Pelvic Girdle  Pain (symphysis pubis dysfunction). We talked about:

  • What PGP is.
  • The common symptoms.
  • Treatment methods.
  • How it impacts you physically.
  • The impact on your mental health.
  • It's impact on day-to-day lifestyle.
  • Birth planning.
  • How long you could suffer with PGP.
  • Subsequent pregnancy advice.
  • Advice for people with PGP.

You can watch the full video above, or you can listen to the audio here
